About Me

I’m Joe Risi — a real estate agent, brand strategist, and storyteller with a deep-rooted passion for the outdoors and a career built around helping people connect to place and purpose.

My work in real estate is grounded in a hands-on understanding of what makes land meaningful — from hunting properties and off-grid retreats to riverfront escapes and working ranches. As a broker with Home Waters Real Estate Group, I specialize in sourcing off-market opportunities, helping buyers find rare slices of Colorado, and guiding sellers who value discretion and expertise. I don't just sell land — I understand how it lives, moves, and provides.

Before entering the real estate world full-time, I spent over a decade in the outdoor and media industry, leading public relations, brand storytelling, and partnership strategy for some of the most recognized names in the field — including onX Maps, Can Am Offroad, TINCUP Whiskey, Thermacell, Wheel Pros, SCARPA, Alpacka Raft, and KC HiLites. My focus has always been to distill a brand’s essence and connect it to culture — placing stories in the right hands, building authentic partnerships, and creating moments that matter. Whether launching a backcountry navigation tool, repositioning a product for hunters, or finding the right publication to tell a new brand’s story, my work has always revolved around connection and clarity.

In the other waking hours I produce events both on and off snow. I have experience in event sponsorship, production, and operations in some of the most challenging environments. I am also the owner/race director for the COSMIC Series, a ski mountaineering race circuit held across the Rocky Mountains, in coordination with the USA Ski Mountaineering Team.

At my core, I’m driven by the belief that great work starts with being immersed — in the field, on the trail, backstage, or boots-on-the-ground with clients. Whether I’m scouting land, producing a campaign, or pitching a story, I bring curiosity, energy, and a deep respect for the environments and people I work with.
